The ring was still rocking as it lay on the ground when Noblem picked it up. “What it is; what did I miss?” Noblem questioned.

“The ring is made from a dragon heart. It’s ancient magic; even before the time that dragon and mankind lived together,” Cabara explained. “It has something to do with white essence and the origination of the White Branch Guild. The bearer of the ring, if he knows the true name of the dragon whose heart it came from, possess all the strength, knowledge, stamina, and magic essence of the dragon whose heart was used to make the ring.

“I once overheard my master discussing this type of ring with Master Glemmic. He said that if the bearer of the ring was the one who single-handedly slew the dragon, the bearer – or anyone who knew the bearer’s true name – could call the dragon back from the dead with the ability to command and control the dragon to do their bidding. Noblem, this ring, because it carries the image of the slain dragon, is a ring that commands the dragon back to life.”

It was Noblem’s turn to be stunned. The thought of anyone being able to control a dragon was a power beyond anything he had ever heard. “We must destroy the ring,” Noblem muttered.

“No!” Cabara shouted. “We must give it to Grand Master Raajanaar. He can secure it in the vaults. We Conjitzu are assigned by the Grand Council to seek out ancient relics and bring them to the Grand Master.

“Years ago, when I overheard my master speaking of these rings, I began to research them on my own. They were very intriguing to me. I found a history book of my master’s, and it explained how humankind was taught about this magic by the ancient dragons. One of the chapters in the book talked about obtaining a ‘NarJour’ – the ancient term for InSet, and the capture of a ‘shyez’ – the ancient term for a dragon warrior wizard. It also explained how mankind taught the shyez to forge the NarJour of a dragon into a weapon.

“The rings came into existence during that period of time. The book talked about one dragon – I think his name was Dorian – who took the knowledge provided by mankind and used it to cast the InSet of dragons into a ring. He combined it with his knowledge of black magic, thus, giving the ring the ability to bring the dragon back to life and to command the dragon.

“Dorian created a secret society; I believe he called it Gizli Toplum. The Gizli Toplum set into motion a plan to capture the most powerful dragons and bring them to Dorian’s cavern – where Lord Dorian would kill the dragon and cast its celest and NarJour into a ring. This gave him the ability to create powerful magic rings.

“Before the Gizli Toplum could put their plan into action, they were discovered, and Lord Dorian and all his followers were stripped of their magic and exiled to one of the Cradorian Islands, I believe it was the island of Morrath.
